Long Shot is the 28th episode of the series, Brandon 10: Ultimate Hero.
Plot[]
The episode begins at a military base in a desert. Within the base, soldiers are seen standing guard as scientists pass through the hallways, going on with their work. A man in a trench coat and a man in a suit are seen walking through the hallway.
Man with Trench Coat: Is it ready, Agent Kole?
Agent Kole: Yes, sir. We have all the preparations ready for testing.
Man with Trench Coat: Are you sure this is going to work?
Agent Kole: It has to, sir. The subjects- ...these people have been through a lot. They deserve this much. Besides, we have too much to lose if we fail.
The two of them into a room which appears as a command center. Other scientists are seen working at the controls. A wide window is in front of the controls which shows the area below. The area below has machinery, more scientists and chambers which contain five people within them.
Agent Kole: Don't worry, sir. We have our best men on this experiment.
Man with Trench Coat: That's not what I'm worried about.
Agent Kole: What is it then?
Man with Trench Coat: I'm not expecting an accident. I'm expecting-
An alarm goes off.
Man with Trench Coat: Sabotage... Start the experiment. No one is stopping us this time.
Scientist, at the controls: Sir, we're losing genetics down at Engineering.
Man with Trench Coat, pulling out a radio: Make sure this experiment goes through.<
Agent Kole: What if it doesn't?
Man with Trench Coat, activating radio: It has to. (over the radio) Paulsen, get Agent Bowie and Dauriac to Engineering.
Meanwhile, in Engineering, a figure is seen opening a panel in the wall which reveals a tube of DNA. The figure reaches inside and grabs it.
Figure: I have one.
Figure 2: Good. Maybe now the Doc will get off our backs about this DNA stuff.
A laser hits the figure's big hand and causes him to launch the vial in the air. A woman in a uniform grabs the vial while a man in a uniform is pointing a blaster at the figures.
Uniformed Woman, over the radio: Commander Paulsen, this is Agent Dauriac, we have the vial. I repeat we have the vial.
Figure, stepping into the light: Don't be so sure.
Both figures step into the light being projecting from an overhead lamp which shows them to be a big, muscular man in armor and a slim woman dressed in a white snow suit.
Agent Bowie, pointing blaster: Great... It's the disaster twins.
Woman in Snow Suit: We aren't twins, genius. He's an abomination.
Agent Bowie, pointing blaster: Yeah I know. It's supposed to be an insult to you, lady.
Woman in Snow Suit: Grr... Destroy the girl. The man is mine.
Agent Bowie: Well isn't that sweet. You're going to have to buy me dinner first though.
Agent Dauriac: Would you quit flirting and start fighting?
Agent Dauriac pulls out dual blasters and starts firing at the armored man but the armor deflects the attacks. The armored man then slams his armored fist against the ground which sends a small shock wave and throws Dauriac into a wall.
Agent Bowie, looking at Dauriac: Scarlett?
Agent Bowie is then hit with a block of ice. Bowie holds the side of his face and looks up as the snow suit woman walks slowly towards him, manipulating ice with her hands.
Woman in Snow Suit: That's what you get for giving me the cold shoulder.
Agent Bowie: I thought I was supposed to be about the puns.
The Woman in the Snow Suit fires an ice beam at Bowie who dodges out of the way. Bowie then grabs his blaster and adjusts a setting at the side which transforms it into a staff. The Snow Suit Woman then pops from around the corner, ready to freeze Bowie, who trips her with his blaster staff. Scarlett then grabs her dual blasters from the floor and fires it at the armored man's face who crashes into a wall. Bowie then grabs the Snow Suit Woman from behind and holds her arms together as she squirms to break free.
Agent Bowie: You're not going anywhere, lady.
The Woman then slams her head into Bowie's head who then let’s go. The Woman kicks Bowie onto the ground.
Woman in Snow Suit: We're getting out of here.
Armored Man: What about the vial?
The Woman in the Snow Suit turns her head and looks at the open panel which shows various other DNA tubes being pumped empty.
Woman in Snow Suit: It's too late. We'll just have to make do with that one.
The Armored Man then smacks Agent Dauriac and grabs the vial from the floor.
Armored Man: I got it! Let's go!
The ice woman then freezes the wall and the armored man then smashes through it as the two escape the facility. The trench coat man is then seen exiting the facility in a hurry. He pulls out his blaster and points it at a hijacked truck. He fires rapidly until his blaster won't fire anymore. The truck then gets away.
Agent Kole, over the radio: Sir?
Man wearing Trench Coat, using his radio: What is it, Kole?
Agent Kole, over the radio: The experiment was a success but Dauriac is claiming that a tube was taken. The program isn't ready yet. What should we do?
The man wearing a trench coat looks outwards.
Man wearing Trench Coat: Get me someone who knows something about alien DNA. Outside S.H.O.T.
After the titles, the Interceptor is seen flying through the skies. On board, the team is at their respective positions.
Brandon: Any activity yet?
Coco: Calm down, dude. I'll let you know if we find anything.
Sarah: You seem eager for some action.
Brandon: Well, I need to entertain myself if I'm gonna be on away from civilization. Looking out of a window isn't really fun all of the time.
Coco: No one said you have to sit here all of the time.
Brandon: What? Are you ser- I mean... Of course, I totally knew that. I was just... being in the presence of friends and loved ones because that's the type of person I am.
Coco: Well excuse me for not having a lounge.
Brandon: A what?
Sarah: It's a public room for sitting and relaxation.
>Brandon: If anything, this place could use a spa.
Sarah: For once, I totally agree with you on architecture.
Coco: Yeah but why would you of all people want a spa... on a spaceship.
Brandon: Hey, every super hero needs their downtime... or is shore leave.
The Hotline then beeps throughout the cockpit.
Sarah: Looks like we finally got some activity.
Brandon: Keyword is finally.
Sarah activates the hotline and Agent Kole comes up on the screen.
Agent Kole: Greetings.
Agent Kole: My name is Agent Kole. I work with a secret organization known as the Super Human Operations Team.
Sarah: S.H.O.T.?
Brandon: That sounds familiar. I think General Gates mentioned it once.
Agent Kole: Well either he's being very careless or he really trusts you.
Brandon: I think I'll go with the option in which I don't get him fired and I get a tank knocking at my door.
Agent Kole: Sounds like the right choice to me. Anyways, I've been assigned by Director Frazer in appointing you three to investigate the missing materials used in an experiment conducted by S.H.O.T.
Sarah: What type of materials?
Agent Kole: I'm afraid that's classified information.
Coco: No info. No job.
Brandon: Not that we wouldn't help either way but we like to get an idea of what we're working with.
Coco: Like I said: No info. No job.
Agent Kole: Let's just say it's very genetic and you're the only man- er person we know outside of the organization with any experience with genetics like the one we're working with.
Sarah: And that didn't sound suspicious at all.
Brandon: Alright, you got me interested. Where's your secret headquarters?
Agent Kole: Secret is such a nonspecific word nowadays. We like to hide while exposing ourselves.
Coco: That doesn't sound right.
Agent Kole: What I mean is that we're an organization to the public but our work is held in private. I'll send you the coordinates through your interface.
Sarah: ...and set a course through our interface. How did you-
Agent Kole: Like I said, we work in private. We look forwards to seeing you there. Something tells me you're going to like what you're going to see.
Agent Kole then cuts off of the screen.
Sarah: Brandon, I'm not sure about this.
Brandon: What? Secret organizations, Super Human DNA, what could possibly go wrong?
Coco: I hate it when you say that.
The Interceptor then flies through some clouds as the scene transitions to the S.H.O.T. Headquarters located under Niagara Falls. The Interceptor lands on the Helipad at the top. The cargo bay door lowers as the team are seen exiting the Interceptor from the opening.
Coco: Finally a proper place to park.
Sarah: I never noticed you complain before.
Coco: I try to hold it in especially when a dog thinks I'm piloting a green fire hydrant.
The team are then introduced to Agent Kole, in person.
Agent Kole: Brandon Tennyson, also known as Brandon 10, it's an honor to finally meet you in person.
Agent Kole: I know you're willing to do this but S.H.O.T. decided to put in a good word for you at pretty much every single university in the country and some in the United Kingdom for specific reasons.
Sarah: Wow. That's impressive.
Coco: Do you mind if I cash mines in?
Agent Kole: We should probably talk about the details later if it bothers you or if you have any further questions. I believe the main reason you're here is to investigate the missing materials. If you would follow me.
Agent Kole then activates an elevator and steps inside. The team follow him in. He then pulls out a card from his jacket pocket and swipes it against a card reader on the elevator. He then presses the button all the way at the bottom. The button lights up after it was pressed and the doors close as the lift lowers down. Elevator music plays while they stand there, awkwardly.
Agent Kole: I think they should raise the button a little. It's bad for my back having to um... reach all the way down there for a button. But you know- it's the job. I guess.
Another awkward silence. The lift then stops as the doors open. The team and Agent Kole then exit the elevator and walk down a hallway. Agent Kole then shows the team to a door. They enter the room and encounter the man in the trench coat.
Agent Kole: Ah, here he is. Brandon and Company, I'd like to introduce you to Director Frazer.
Director Frazer, correcting: Frank Frazer. You must be Brandon 10.
Brandon: Well I'm all over the news so yeah I am.
Frank Frazer: We knew you since before the leak.
Brandon: What'd you say?
Frank Frazer: You heard me. We had you under surveillance back in your secret identity stage.
Frank Frazer: Yes. We saw potential in him and his identity wasn't in jeopardy so we didn't plan on intervening. Besides, how can you when there are threats all around the globe to take care of. I'm happy that you finally got yourself some transportation that can fly and I'm never really happy. Not with a job like this.
Coco: How do we know that you're not responsible for the leak?
Frank Frazer: Because we, as a branch of an organization that protects the people from extraterrestrial knowledge and encounters, wouldn't want possibly one of the biggest alien encounters on Earth to be leaked on a blog by a 10 year old that now works in our system.<
Frank Frazer: Anyways, this isn't about you. It's about them.
Brandon: Them?
Frank Frazer: More specifically, it. The materials.
Sarah: Again with the materials.
Frank Frazer: Yes. It's about time you got to know these materials. Genetic substance. Obtained from research on an old friend of yours that we kept at our Mexico Base.
Brandon: DNA X...
Frank Frazer: Mhm. We needed to test the DNA and see if it was safe to use for creating our own super human soldiers but now that DNA is in the wrong hands. Two meta-humans were seen by our agents stealing the DNA for themselves. Their plan, location and use for the DNA is unknown. Just a reminder, this DNA sample could have an unlimited amount of DNA Samples for use which may access unlimited abilities.
Sarah: We might have our hands full here.
Frank Frazer: It's alright. We developed just the thing for that.
Brandon: What thing?
Frank Frazer: Gentlemen... and lady. We'd like to introduce you to something we've been working on.
Frank then leads the team to another room. When they encounter, Brandon looks surprised.
Brandon: Whoa...
The room then looks like a lobby with two staircases, a chandelier, a fireplace, an elevator and a table tennis court.
Brandon: This is like the ultimate man cave.
Voice: Funny. That's what they said.
The team turn they attention to the voice and see a buff man in an green and yellow costume.
Costumed Man: Greetings. My name is Jack Morrison but you can call me Admiral Justice.
Sarah: You're one of the metahumans that Director Frazer mentioned.
Admiral Justice: Yes. The first to sign up for the program actually.
Sarah: You're not experiencing any side effects or anything, right?
Admiral Justice: (chuckles) I'm fine, if you're wondering. I had like a dozen doctors asking me the same question. Actually, I'm better than before. More durable and swift. But you probably have heard stories of the Brandon 10 transforming plenty of times.
Coco: Barely.
Brandon: There's not much to say about it. It just feels like a stretch sorta.
Voice 2: I'm sure, mines was more painful.<
Another costumed man then lands next to Admiral Justice.
Admiral Justice: It's not a competition, Tom.
Frank Frazer: Five... for now, anyways.
Admiral Justice: Where are my manners? We have guests and I didn't introduce you to the team.
Frank Frazer: Allow me. (to the team) Let me introduce you to the new project of alien hybrids. (pointing at Admiral Justice) Obviously this is Admiral Justice aka Jack Morrison. Super Human Strength, Super Durability and a swift healing factor. (pointing at Tom) Solar Flare aka Tom Kane. Has the powers of a fire manipulation and solar energy which grants him flight.
Solar Flare: I didn't say I wanted my name to be learned by some kids, Frank.
Frank Frazer: They're not just kids, Tom. They're specialists. But if you don't want me to call out names-
Solar Flare: Oh I'm fine with it. I'm just speaking for the rest of the test subjects.
A costumed, muscular yet slim man appears from the staircase on the left side.
Costumed Man: Did someone mention tests? I took the liberty of summoning the rest of the team.
Frank Frazer: That makes things much more easier for introductions. (to the team) This is Voltage. He controls lightning.
Voltage: Actually I merely control electricity and since lightning is an electrical current created by collison of frozen raindrops in the form of an electric charge-
Frank Frazer: He's also smart.
Solar Flare: Wait. Did you say the rest of the team?
Solar Flare: You do realize you just brought grumpy into the lobby.
A big, green humanoid creature then bursts out and crashes in front of the team. It then roars.
Frank Frazer: Easy there, Marcus. These are guests.
Marcus then calms down and looks up at them.
Frank Frazer, to the team: This is Marcus. We call him Reptor.
Marcus: Why do we have guests?
Frank Frazer: An excellent question. Team, I've been meaning to-
Voice 3: Hey! Aren't you going to introduce me?
The team look up and see a person in an orange costume on the ceiling, looking down at them.
Frank Frazer: (sighs and places hand over his face) (extends hand upwards) And this is Animal Boy. He stuck into the experimentation chambers during the break in.
Animal Boy leaps from the ceiling and lands gently on the floor in front of the team in a squatting position.
Animal Boy: Well, I couldn't miss the big party now could I? Besides, who doesn't want super powers?
Frank Frazer: Not whoever stole the nessercary DNA tube we produced for the experiment.
Frank goes to the wall and activates it which transforms into a screen. On the screen, it shows security footage and files for the two villains at the scene of the crime.
Frank Frazer: Ice Storm and Striker had broke out of prison two weeks ago. Their escape was well organized.
Admiral Justice: Hm... Prehaps they were working together in order to escape. An alliance.
Frank Frazer: Yes. They was an alliance but if they wanted to work together to break out of prison-
Solar Flare: Then why work together to steal from S.H.O.T.?
Frank Frazer: Exactly. We tried examining the contents of the vial but more than a few files were stolen by the two thugs.
Sarah: It would seem they knew what they were doing.
Voltage: Not very likely. Striker has the attention span of a mutton head.
Coco: A what?
Sarah: A slow-witted, foolish, dull person.
Coco: Oh... I should totally use that one in the future.
Brandon: Maybe they were working for someone. A crime boss or something.
Frank Frazer: My thoughts exactly, Brandon.
Animal Boy: But why would they work for someone? They don't exactly seem like henchmen... unless that's what henchmen look like. I dunno I just became a super hero about a week ago.
Frank Frazer: You people are not super heroes. You're hybrids. This isn't some type of way to get super powers. It's a way to become Super Human. You volunteered for these experiments and we are going to draw every single test we could think of in order to find results to help the ordinary Humans!
Animal Boy gulps.
Admiral Justice: I believe we understand, Director.
Frank Frazer: Good. Anyways, I'll put my people on it. You can talk with Commander Paulsen if you need anything.
Reptor: We find those guys and teach them a lesson.
Voltage: If you're suggesting criminal rehabilitation-
Coco: I think he means kicking their butts.
Animal Boy: We should be out there kicking their butts right now.
Sarah: Well in order for that to happen, we need a location.
Voltage: I'll see if I can track their movements through the equipment here.
Brandon: Sounds great. Sarah, I think you should help him out.
Sarah: Brandon, do you mind if I talk to you for a moment?
Brandon: Um... Sure.
Brandon and Sarah then walk away from the others and Coco.
Coco, folding his arms: Well, I'll just stay here. I guess. So... What's up, big guy?
Reptor: I don't like you.
Meanwhile, Brandon and Sarah are seen a short distance away from the group.
Brandon: What's going on, Sarah?
Sarah: We've encountered Hybrids before. If they're experimenting we need to stop it.
Brandon: They're not our enemy. They're good guys, I think.
Sarah: I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about SHOT.
Brandon: What?
Sarah: They took DNA from DNA X and used to experiment on actual people.
Brandon: They volunteered.
Sarah: It doesn't matter. Maybe they weren't told the whole truth. Besides, since this experiment was so successful, imagine what they'll do with the rest of the DNA.
Brandon: I know what you're thinking.
Sarah: I'm not sure you do, Brandon. Director Frazer said that there's only five for now. If he's going to be producing more hybrids, it's only going to be for soldiers. Imagine an organization with more power than the government.
Brandon: I'm starting to see your point.
Sarah: Are you sure you want to help them?
Brandon: If not them, then who? The bad guys? Both of us know that whatever they're planning, it's not going to be any better than SHOT's ideas.
Sarah: Alright. I get what you're saying.
Voltage: I found something!
Brandon and Sarah join the group and Coco as they circle around the wall screen which is viewing a location on a virtual globe.
Brandon: Where's that?
Sarah: Toronto, Canada.
Animal Boy: Toronto? Man, I actually wanted to see the ice hockey team play tonight.
Voltage: I'm also picking up on crisis alerts in the city.
Coco: Crisis Alerts? Really?
Admiral Justice: It means there's trouble in the area.
Solar Flare: Probably Ice Storm and Striker.
Brandon: Then there's no time to loose. We need to get to Toronto.
Admiral Justice: Not so fast. We need to associate with Director Frazer about our findings.
Brandon: Paperwork? Now?
Admiral Justice: We have our orders and since you're guests, we expect you to carry out the same respect.
Brandon: Alright fine.
Coco: Seriously? We're just going to stand here and wait for their boss to show up?
Brandon: It's fine, Coco. I'll go get him. (winks)
Sarah: You obviously don't know your way around here.
Animal Boy: I'll show them around. It's better than filing, am I right?
Animal Boy swings over to the team as they exit the lobby and into a hallway.
Animal Boy: So... You guys going to Toronto or what?
Brandon smiles. Later in Toronto, Striker is seen crashing into buildings and the citizens of the city run in paniac.
Striker: Smashing's real good! Ha ha!
Animal Boy, landing on a lamp post: Not as good as seeing you locked away in jail.
Striker: Rah! You'll never stop me on your own.
Animal Boy: Well I didn't exactly come alone.
Astro flies in and lands underneath the lamp post.
Astro: ASTRO!
Striker: A monkey and a robot? That's the best you SHOT people got?
Animal Boy: I'm not a monkey and I'm pretty sure he's an alien that just looks like a robot.
Striker then strikes the ground which causes the lamp post to fall over. Animal Boy leaps from the lamp post before it falls over and jumps off of Striker's head. Astro then punches him into a building. Animal Boy then lands on the ground.
Astro: Nice work.
Voice: On the contrary.
Astro turns around and sees Team SHOT looking very displeased.
Admiral Justice: It's quite the opposite.
After the break, Astro and Animal Boy are seen facing off against Team SHOT. Coco and Sarah are seen knocked out and in the grasps of Reptor.
Astro: Guys! (to Admiral Justice) What did you do to them?
Admiral Justice: Those two along with yourself and Animal Boy have disobeyed SHOT orders. We had to take action and subdue them. They're only unconscious. We suggest that you turn yourself in for debriefing.
Astro: You can't be serious? I was doing your job for you and I'm getting arrested. I'd like to talk to someone about this before I get locked up in a cell somewhere.
Admiral Justice: Director Frazer will be the first person you speak to back at HQ. Now I suggest you come with us.
Astro: And how long will that take? We have a mission here and (mocking) I suggest that you stick to it otherwise who knows what type of danger we'll be in.
Admiral Justice: So you refuse to cooperate? Fine. We'll just have to take you in ourselves.
Astro: That's not an option.
Admiral Justice: It is now. Team SHOT Go!
Solar Flares then fires energy at Astro who is hit into a building. Voltage fires lightning down at Astro who gets electrocuted.
Animal Boy: Wait stop. What are you doing?
Admiral Justice: Our jobs. You're either with us or with them. I suggest you choose wisely.
Astro releases a beam of energy which throws Solar Flare and Voltage into Admiral Justice. Reptor then throws Coco and Sarah down on the ground and cracks his knuckles.
Astro: I don't want to fight you people. I'm on your side.
Reptor: You should have said that a while ago.
Reptor then charges at Astro and strikes him into the ground. Astro blasts Reptor's face which only makes him upset.
Reptor then grabs Astro and slams him into the ground. Astro tries to fly away but Reptor grabs his feet and slams him against the street once more. Reptor prepares to strike once again and Astro smacks the Ultimatrix symbol. A flash overcomes him. Reptor strikes but a big hand grabs his fist. It is revealed that Astro transformed into Size Man.
Size Man: SIZE MAN!
Size Man then punches Reptor through a building who then crashes into a car on the other side. He then grabs the car and throws it at Size Man; unaware of the people inside, screaming for help.
Animal Boy: The people!
Animal Boy leaps in the air and lands on the air. He rips the car door off and grabs the people with both of his arms. He then leaps from the car before it crashes into Size Man who then falls over on the street. Animal Boy then drops the people off and turns back to see Size Man laying on the ground. Size Man transforms back into Brandon who gets up, regaining his strength. Animal Boy leaps and lands inbetween Brandon and Team SHOT.
Admiral Justice: Out of the way, Animal Boy.
Animal Boy: You don't understand. This fighting is getting us nowhere. You guys are right. We have to follow rules and regulations but if the rules are holding us back for saving people and actually putting them in harms way then what's the point of going through this experiment in the first place? We voluenteered because we thought we could benefit society in some type of way. Maybe for science, maybe to enlist as a solider or maybe even to get super powers but the point is we all have something in common, even Brandon, we want to save the world. Look around you.
Admiral Justice looks around and sees the damage the fight caused.
Animal Boy: Fighting only caused more damage to the city. Civilians nearly got killed in the crossfire. Is this the type of people we want to become? Monsters? I don't care what people think of me. If I'm a freak or a mutant or some type of hybrid but the one thing that matters is if I have the right to call myself a hero.
Admiral Justice: He's right.
Solar Flare: Jack, you can't be serious-
Admiral Justice: I am serious, Tom. I've lost sight of what I signed up for. Not the experiment but when I became an Admiral. I wanted to do good things. To help people. If I got these abilities and didn't use them to do good things then what is the point. We're people just like them. Not lab rats. If we're going to break some regulations, it better be to save the world.
Voltage: I suppose you're right, Admiral. Research is a benefit but it's no good when you're not using it.
Solar Flare: And Reptor? What do you have to say about this?
Reptor: I hurt someone. I don't want to make same mistake twice.
Solar Flare: Well it seems I'm all by myself here.
Admiral Justice: It doesn't have to be, Tom. Imagine getting the regconization you wanted all this time but for doing something right for once.
Solar Flare: That does seem like a nice thing to think about. Alright, Fine, I'm with you guys. What's the plan?
Brandon: We stop whoever's behind this. Any ideas?
Animal Boy: Maybe he knows something.
Striker looks up and sees Team SHOT aiming at him.
Admiral Justice: Who hired you?
Striker: Ha! You think you can make me talk? I am the strongest there is. Go on take your best shot. I won't squeel.
Solar Flare: He's probably right.
Reptor: Doesn't mean we still can't try.
Brandon: Hang on a second, big guy. I've got an idea.
Brandon activates the Ultimatrix and scrolls through transformations. He then slaps down the Brainiac Hologram and transforms into Brainiac.
Brainiac: BRAINIAC!
Striker attempts to escape but Brainiac zaps him to the building with his electric abilties.
Striker: OOF!
Brainiac: Now then. Let's get down to business and discuss the matter at hand. Do, please, inform my associates and I with the whereabouts of your employer otherwise we shall have little act in making the decision of doing otherwise than striking you forcibly with our lower extremity of the leg below the ankle in your lowest rear area and subsequently secure you within a cell elsewhere.
Striker: Wha?
Sarah: Tell us who exployed you or we'll uh-
Voltage: -Kick your butt and then put you in jail?
Sarah: I prefer to keep that last part out.
Brainiac: It seemed required to be done; at least to myself at the moment of stating.
Striker: I told ya already. I ain't talking. No brain guy ain't gonna make me talk.
Brainiac, correcting: I have already informed you so I refuse to communicate. This highly intelligent person is not going to attempt to have myself inform you.
Striker: What are you talking about?
Brainiac: I was simply correcting your poor grammar choices.
Striker: What are you gettin' at?
Brainiac: Gathering evidence displayed before me, I have arrived at the conclusion that you are an imbecile.
Striker: What's that mean?
Coco: Dude, even I know that means Stupid.
Striker: You think you're so smart. I can smash you up real good.
Brainiac: Yes. I'm sure you'll attempt to if you ever receive an oppertunity but it wouldn't matter either way.
Striker: And why not, smart guy?
Brainiac: Because you would be defeated easily due to your lack of stragedic planning. It's obvious someone else is planning out your operations for you and you act as an adherent and follow the given instructions.
Striker: You callin' me a lackey?
Brainiac: I believe I just did. Unless you can prove that you're the master mind behind these operations.
Striker: Well-
Brainiac: Of course you can't. The genetics contained within the vial are unknown to you. The subject known as Ice Storm must be in charge.
Striker: Ice Storm? You're kiddin'. She's in charge?
Brainiac: Yes, obviously. In fact, she'll get all of the credit for this operation when we find her location.
Striker: What do you mean credit? I smashed this city.
Brainiac: You believe you have something worth proving that you exist as a being. A pity that such effort will go unnoticed by fine persons such as myself and the fair civilians of the area.
Striker: No way. I smashed this city. That was my job. To distract you guys while Ice Storm takes the sample to Dr. Payne at that ol' science place in Ottawa. So there! Now who's the smart guy, huh?
Brainiac: I believe that role will remain to myself seeing that you just revealed who your employer is.
Striker, thinking about that: ... Ah crud!
Admiral Justice: Doctor Payne? That's impossible. I sent him to a private prison forged deep underground. There's no way he could have escaped.
Brainiac transforms back into Brandon.
Brandon: Either way, he's out and we have to find him.
Solar Flare: Kid's got a point, Admiral. If Doctor Payne has the DNA Vial, his plans could be complete anytime now.
Admiral Justice: Alright. We're on our way to Ottawa.
Sarah: What about Striker?
Admiral Justice: I'll call the Director to send some men for pick up.
Animal Boy: But they'll arrest you on the spot for breaking regulations.
Admiral Justice: I'm ready to make that sacerfice in order to buy you some time.
Brandon: No way, Admiral. I might not have known you for long but neither have they. So if I think that this team needs you now more than ever, I have a feeling I'm not the only one thinking it.
Reptor: Team needs leader.
Admiral Justice: Well it seems I've made my choice then.
Animal Boy: If anything, I'll stay behind.
Admiral Justice: We leave no man behind, Animal Boy.
Animal Boy: It's alright. Jumping around doesn't really help stop a big threat like Doctor Payne whoever that is. Go on without me. I'll try and explain it all.
Admiral Justice nods and signals the team out. The team and Team SHOT head for the Interceptor as Animal Boy looks outwards at them. Later, at an abandonned science facility. A figure is seen working with the DNA Vial.
Figure: Yes... Everything is going along as planned. Soon, I will become one of the most powerful beings on the Earth. With alien DNA flowing through my weapons, my armor, my army.
Brandon's Voice: No so fast, Doctor Lame.
The figure turns around and sees the team and Team SHOT standing behind him.
Admiral Justice: It's over Payne.
Doctor Payne: Oh but the Payne-
The figure steps into the light and reveals that he wears a metallic armored suit, gloves, a cape and a helmet.
Doctor Payne: -is only beginning. Ice Storm!
Ice Storm lands in front of Doctor Payne and fires an ice blast at both teams. Sarah shields them with her energy. Coco absorbs the ground and gains his asphalt form. He forms a sledge hammer arm and slams the ground with it causing Ice Storm to fall over. Sarah drops the shield.
Admiral Justice: Ready?
Brandon: Oh yeah.
Admiral Justice: Team S.H.O.T. Go!
Brandon: It's Hero Time!
Brandon activates the Ultimatrix and slaps down the face plate. He transforms into Loch Ness.
Loch Ness: LOCH NESS!
Loch Ness sprays water at Doctor Payne who dodges the blast and fires an energy pulse at Loch Ness.
Loch Ness: Ha! You missed.
Loch Ness then sniffs the air.
Loch Ness: Hey what's that- (looks down and sees hole in his chest) -smell... Oh.
Loch Ness then regenerates that hole in his chest.
Loch Ness: Careful, guys. He's got a blaster thing.
Voltage: Well that's specific.
Ice Storm gets up and fires an ice blast at Solar Flare who counters it with a fire blast.
Ice Storm: That wasn't very 'ice, guy.
Solar Flare: Hey. I can't help it if I'm hot, girl.
Reptor: Less flirt. More fight!
Coco: Words to live by.
Sarah, firing energy disc: What's that supposed to mean?
Coco: N- Nothing.
Ice Storm is prepared to fire an ice beam but Loch Ness sprays water at her. The water then freezes when she fires the blast which traps her in an ice block.
Admiral Justice: It's over Payne.
Payne: I think not.
Striker then crashes through the walls and yells out.
Voltage: Striker? But we left him with-
Striker: Monkey kid? He was real fun to smash up good.
Reptor, angry: Striker hurt Animal Boy?! RAHHH!
Reptor then jumps at Striker and slams his fist into his face which causes him to crash into the ground benath him. Reptor then grabs Striker and throws him at Doctor Payne who dodges out of the way. Striker then smashes into a device and it explodes. Striker then flies into a wall and is knocked out. Reptor breaths heavily.
Admiral Justice: That's it, Doctor Payne. Who's gone too far? You won't ruin my world by taking someone out of it again.
Doctor Payne: Your little girlfriend was a nice woman. Shame she got in my way just like your team here.
Loch Ness: And we're going to stop you.
Doctor Payne: It would seem I have very little option other than fighting you so I might as well have fun with it.
Doctor Payne then injects the vial into his glove which then activates and drains the vial of the DNA. The DNA within the vial then pumps through his glove and through tubes connected to his glove leading to a pack on his back. Once the DNA fills the tubes completely and gets to the backpack, he starts to transform into something bigger as the teams look up and see the change undergo until it's over and a large sized, mutated Doctor Payne is seen standing before them.
Doctor Payne: I am no longer Doctor Ian Payne. I am something more... powerful.
Loch Ness: He evolved himself like one of my Ultimate aliens.
Doctor Payne: Ultimate alien, hm? I shall be known as Ultimate Payne!
Loch Ness: Not even a small amount of credit?
Ultimate Payne then smashes his fist against the ground which levels the whole facility. Ultimate Payne is then seen standing over the rubble.
Ultimate Payne: No more annoyances. Time to take over this nation by gathering more samples. And then... the world.
Ultimate Payne then runs off. Shortly later, a pink energy sphere containing the group is seen rising from the debris.
Sarah: Everyone alright?
Brandon, now in Human Form: Fine.
Admiral Justice: He's probably heading towards SHOT HQ in order to gain more DNA Samples.
Sarah: I thought your experiment took place in a military base elsewhere.
Voltage: True but the DNA was moved here to be safer.
Coco: Smart move.
Solar Flare: It was a bright idea at the time.
Brandon: Wait where's Reptor?
Reptor then crashes through the debris; carrying something. He then lands close by. Sarah glides the sphere over towards him until it lands on the ground. Sarah then lowers it and the team walk towards Reptor who places the object on the ground.
Brandon: What is that?
The object is revealed to be a circular cocoon-like object.
Sarah: It looks like a cocoon.
The "cocoon" then starts to hatch.
Admiral Justice: Get ready for anything.
The cocoon then hatches and Animal Boy, without his mask on, rolls out onto the ground.
Solar Flare: Sorry, Jack, but I don't think anyone can get ready for that.
Brandon: Animal Boy? What happened?
Animal Boy, gaining his strength: I- I must have fell asleep after he beat me. I just knew that I had to follow him. Get to you guys. So I did. I just don't know how.
Sarah: Must be some type of ability you had but weren't aware of.
Coco: Guess you're not useless leaping after all.
Animal Boy, noticing his mask is off: M-My mask! Where is it?!
Admiral Justice: Relax. We're all friends here. Your secret is safe with us.
Animal Boy, to Brandon: And what about you?
Brandon: Come on, dude. I know what it's like to hide a secret like this from people I care about. Happened before I became a world known super hero. We won't tell anyone.
Animal Boy: Thanks. My name's Alex Murray.
Voltage: Wolf. Christopher Wolf.
Reptor hands Alex his mask who then takes it.
Reptor: Marcus Johnson.
Animal Boy: You knew about my abilities, didn't you?
Reptor: I was a biologist before experiment.
Solar Flare: I don't think anyone would have seen that coming either.
Voltage nudges Solar Flare in the side.
Animal Boy: So... How are we gonna beat this guy?
Admiral Justice: Together.
Brandon: And I have something that will give us the upper hand.
Coco: You do?
Brandon: Knowledge.
Voltage: It is a worthy weapon.
Brandon: Just just plain ol' knowledge. Knowledge on you guys. I just noticed this but all of your have powers similar to my alien transformations and I don't think it was a coincidence that you became the person you are now.
Admiral Justice: So that's how we beat him. By mastering our powers and fighting as a team.
Brandon, correcting: Teams.
Admiral Justice nods. Later, Ultimate Payne is seen approaching the Niagra Falls HQ.
Ultimate Payne: Yes... Nearly there. Soon, the world will be mine.
Admiral Justice: Not so fast, Payne!
Ultimate Payne turns around and sees Team SHOT with Brandon's Team.
Brandon: Your plans have gone on long enough.
Ultimate Payne: I've beat you before Jack. Your team barely stood against Striker and Ice Storm. Now prepare to try my power!
Admiral Justice: I was just about to say the same thing just with the word "our". Team SHOT-
Both Admiral Justice and Brandon: Go!
Reptor launches forwards and strikes Ultimate Payne in the face. He falls forwards.
Solar Flare, flying up: I got this.
Solar Flare fires an energy beam which throws him back. Ultimate Payne then gets up.
Ultimate Payne: Is that all you got?
Solar Flare: We're just warming up.
Solar Flare flies in and fires a flame ring around Ultimate Payne which entraps him in a ring of fire while Sarah fires energy discs at his side. Solar Flare then joins Admiral Justice hitting at him from his other side but then flies up to attack his face which is hit by a stone thrown by Coco who absorbed the street material and gained its form. Reptor and Voltage are then seen attacking Ultimate Payne at his back. Reptor then slams down and causes Ultimate Payne to fall over on the ground.
Voltage: Nice one.
Reptor: Hmph!
Brandon activates the Ultimatrix, ready to join the battle, but then Ultimate Payne starts to get up and grabs Brandon.
Ultimate Payne: I'm going to destroy you!
Brandon: You don't wanna talk about it over a burger or something?
Animal Boy swooping Brandon from Payne's grasp.
Animal Boy, grabbing onto the side of a building, carrying Brandon: I think he's into more exotic food. I think I saw a restaurant two blocks from here.
Ultimate Payne: Enough! No one will stop me.
Admiral Justice: Maybe no one. But all of us- you're in trouble now.
Brandon: Jack, focus your abilities. You have more than durability. Focus on that swift feeling. Solar, you have more than just fire power. Think cool. Reptor, you have natural weapons. Use 'em!
Admiral Justice: You heard the man. Let's take him down.
Admiral Justice fires water from his palms at Ultimate Payne while Solar Fire concentrates and fires an ice beam at Payne which freezes him because of the water. Reptor then fires canons at Ultimate Payne who smashes out of the ice and falls over the edge and into the Niagara Falls, all the way to the bottom. Animal Boy leaps down to the ground with Brandon as they rejoin the team looking over the edge. Later, Doctor Payne, now in his normal state, is seen being arrested by SHOT Soldiers. Director Frazer looks at Team SHOT.
Director Frazer: I am past disapointed. I am furious. You disobeyed SHOT orders, decided to take on your own mission and associate yourself with non-members. I should have all of you disbanded.
Admiral Justice: But you won't, sir.
Director Frazer: And why is that?
Brandon: Because they're a team. No matter what. You can take away their powers but you can't take away their hope. Together they fight strong especially now knowing their powers. If anything, I did you a favor.
Admiral Justice: We signed up to help people, Director. What good are we sitting at base while the villains roam the world. We're not asking for much. We're only asking to help.
Animal Boy: The Canadian District, at least- er, Sir.
Director Frazer: Hm... Alright, fine. You're all off the hook this time but try a stunt like that again and I will make sure your genetics aren't your only problem. (to Brandon's team) And as for you three-
Brandon: Um... Heh.
Director Frazer: Hm... I don't want to see you anywhere near SHOT Operations.
Brandon: Wha-
Director Frazer: But aside from that, thanks. I guess Gates was right about you.
Brandon: Really? What'd he say? How amazing I am?
Director Frazer: That you're a good kid and you have potential. Don't push it, kid.
Brandon: Oh...
Director Frazer: Agent Paulsen, make sure our... team gets the proper treatments from now on.
A woman in a uniform with an earpiece steps out.
Agent Paulsen: Yes, sir.
Animal Boy: What? Agent Paulsen was a girl this whole time?
Director Frazer: Agent Amanda Paulsen.
Agent Paulsen: Please don't use my full name, Sir.
Brandon: Well too be far. "Man" is in her first name.
Animal Boy: Yeah but she's so cu- (sees her glare) u-uo-o-nected with Director Frazer in such a big way.
Brandon: Sure, dude. Sure.
Animal Boy: But seriously, it was great working with you.
Reptor: You fight good. I like that.
Admiral Justice: You're always welcome to join the team.
Brandon: Thanks, Jack, but I have my own team to look after.
Admiral Justice: I know the feeling.
Brandon: Well, see ya around. But before we go, (to his team)you think we should get costum-
Both Sarah and Coco: No.
Brandon gives off an awkward expression while the others laugh. An alert then goes off.
Voltage: Hold on, friends. There's a crisis alert. A robotic villain this time.
Animal Boy: Well, looks like we're back on the clock.
Admiral Justice: Want to join us?
Brandon: I don't know. I was thinking of getting some lunch after all that.
Animal Boy: How about we eat after the battle?
Brandon: Well?
Sarah: Sounds fair.
Coco: Whatever. Let's just take this guy down.
Brandon: Looks like we're in.
Admiral Justice: Great. Now, Team SHOT Go!
Brandon: It's Hero Time!
Both teams head out for battle together once again.

- This episode was inspired by The Avengers and included references to the film and its sequel, Age of Ultron.
- This is the first episode to be set in Canada.
- This is the last regular episode of Season 2; the next two being a two-parter episode and the season finale.
- Team S.H.O.T. was originally going to be similar to the Teen Titans mainly because of their catchphrase "Team SHOT Go!"
- Team S.H.O.T. stands for The Super Human Operation Team.
- Most of the characters introduced in this episode are based off of MARVEL characters.
- The aliens used in this episode spell out the phrase "ASBL" with their first letters, this is an acronym for the word "Assemble"
- This is the second episode in which the Aliens Used Section was manipulated into referring to something; the first time was when it was, in the order of the elements used to summon Captain Planet, in The Ultimate Pollution.
- Assemble was also chosen as the phrase because this episode is so similar to The Avengers in which their catchphrase is "Avengers Assemble!"
- Brandon refers to transforming into aliens as a stretch.
